Does Your Child Need a Pediatric Eye Exam?

Many childhood eye conditions have no obvious symptoms. Children may not realize their vision is different from anyone else's. Regular eye exams with a pediatric ophthalmologist can catch problems early, when treatment is most effective.

The American Academy of Ophthalmology recommends eye screenings at birth, 6 months, 3 years, and before starting school. If you notice any of the warning signs listed here, schedule an evaluation sooner.

Your child's eye health matters. Dr. Potter provides a thorough evaluation to identify any issues early and recommend the best course of action for your child's vision.

Warning Signs

Eyes that cross or turn outward
Squinting or closing one eye
Head tilting to see better
Sitting too close to screens or books
Frequent eye rubbing
Difficulty reading or learning
White or cloudy pupil
Excessive tearing or light sensitivity
