Our office at 2046 West Main Street is on the right. This route takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes but avoids highway traffic entirely.
By Train from New Rochelle
New Rochelle sits right on Metro-North's New Haven Line, which means you have a direct train to Stamford with no transfers required. The ride takes approximately 20 to 25 minutes heading northeast. For commuters who work in Manhattan, here is a convenient option: on your evening ride home from Grand Central, simply stay on the train past your usual New Rochelle stop and exit at Stamford. Yonkers may sit on the western side of Westchester County, but getting to our Stamford office is simpler than you might think. Several highway routes connect you to our practice without the need to go anywhere near New York City traffic. Many of our Yonkers patients are pleasantly surprised by how manageable the drive is.
Greenwich Ophthalmology Associates
2046 West Main Street, Suite 2, Stamford, CT 06902
Driving from Yonkers
Recommended Route via Cross County Parkway and Hutchinson River Parkway: From Yonkers, take the Cross County Parkway East (this picks up easily from Central Park Avenue, the Saw Mill River Parkway, or the New York Thruway). Follow the Cross County Parkway to the Hutchinson River Parkway heading north. Continue as the Hutchinson crosses the state line into Connecticut and becomes the Merritt Parkway. Take Merritt Parkway Exit 9 (Long Ridge Road / CT-104). Turn right heading south on Long Ridge Road for about 2 miles to the Bull's Head intersection. Continue straight onto Bedford Street and follow it south for about 1 mile to Route 1 (West Main Street). Turn right onto West Main Street. Our office at 2046 West Main Street, Suite 2, is a short distance ahead on the left.
Alternate Route via I-87 and I-287: Take I-87 (New York Thruway) North from Yonkers to I-287 East. Follow I-287 East through White Plains toward Port Chester and the Connecticut state line, where I-287 merges onto I-95 North. Take I-95 North into Stamford and exit at Exit 6. Turn right onto Harvard Avenue at the second light, follow it to Route 1 (West Main Street), and turn left. Our office at 2046 West Main Street is on the left. This route is a good option if you are coming from eastern Yonkers near the Thruway.
By Train from Yonkers
Yonkers is served by Metro-North's Hudson Line, which runs along the Hudson River into Grand Central Terminal rather than through Stamford. Because of this, there is no direct train service between Yonkers and Stamford. Driving is the most practical option for Yonkers patients. However, if you commute to Manhattan via the Hudson Line, you could take the New Haven Line from Grand Central to Stamford on the return trip. Trains to Stamford depart Grand Central frequently, and the ride takes about 50 minutes to one hour on a local train, or roughly 45 minutes on an express. From Stamford station, our office is a short 5-to-7-minute taxi or rideshare ride to the west.
