Dr. Mandava graduated from Cornell University and earned his medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine. After completing his internship at Greenwich Hospital, he served as Chief Resident during his ophthalmology residency at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital, where he co-edited the MEETH Pocket Atlas of Ophthalmology and developed extensive experience in anterior segment and refractive surgery. He then completed a fellowship in cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery at the University of Minnesota, where he received the prestigious Heed Fellowship Award. He was among the first cornea specialists to be fellowship-trained in laser vision correction, including LASIK and PRK.

Dr. Mandava has performed advanced vision correction and corneal procedures since 1998. His areas of expertise include LASIK, PRK, epi-LASIK, refractive lens implants, premium cataract surgery, keratoconus management, and corneal transplantation techniques such as DSEK, DMEK, and DALK. He also treats pterygium (abnormal tissue growth on the eye's surface) and dry eye conditions. His practice has earned recognition as an iLASIK and Crystalens Center of Excellence.
