Dr. Sofia Ribolla, O.D., is a residency-trained optometrist who provides comprehensive primary and specialty eye care tailored to each patient’s needs. She offers services that range from vision testing and eyeglass prescriptions to soft and scleral contact lens fittings and the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders, including ocular surface disease, glaucoma, and myopia management. Dr. Ribolla also cares for patients before and after cataract and refractive surgery, helping them understand their options and feel supported throughout the surgical process.

Dr. Ribolla received her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the SUNY College of Optometry, where she graduated with Honors. She is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and also completed a Master of Visual Science, focusing her research on dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction in the pediatric population. She then completed a residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, where she concentrated on ocular disease with an emphasis on vitreoretinal disease and glaucoma management, and she further strengthened her clinical skills through externships in Philadelphia, Connecticut, and New York. Dr. Ribolla is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Connecticut State Optometric Association, reflecting her ongoing commitment to professional excellence for the benefit of her patients.​

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Ribolla has presented several posters that have been recognized by the American Academy of Optometry, highlighting her interest in advancing understanding of dry eye and pediatric meibomian gland dysfunction. Her training includes working closely with cataract and glaucoma surgeons, performing specialty contact lens fittings, and managing binocular vision disorders, which allows her to offer care that spans from complex ocular disease management to precise visual correction. Outside the clinic, she enjoys learning other languages, traveling, taking Pilates classes, and spending time with family and friends, a balance that supports her warm, approachable style and her focus on helping patients maintain clear, comfortable vision in their daily lives.


I believe that comprehensive eye care goes beyond just prescribing glasses—it's about understanding each patient's unique visual needs and building lasting relationships based on trust and excellent care. My advanced training in ocular disease and research background allow me to provide both preventive and specialized care to help my patients achieve their best possible vision and eye health.

Dr. Ribolla completed her residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where she focused on ocular disease, emphasizing vitreoretinal disease and glaucoma management.
